Even the most severely scratched glass unit can be repaired in a matter of hours, a massive saving of time when compared to the days or even weeks it can take for new glass to be ordered, made, delivered and installed.
The cost of having your scratched glass repaired is on average 80% cheaper than the cost of glass replacement, saving you hundreds or even thousands of pounds.
As the glass is repaired in-situ there is minimal to no damage to the frames or surrounding fittings compared to when fully re-installing a new glass unit, so no further work or other major trades are required.
Should I just replace my scratched glass or can it really be repaired?
Scratched glass can be repaired. It's what we do every day of the week!
Not only is it much cheaper (on average around 80% cheaper) than replacing the glass, it's also much easier and quicker.
Your glass can be repaired in a matter of hours compared to the days or even weeks it takes to order new glass and then have it made, delivered and installed.
Can you see where the scratch was after the glass is repaired?
This depends on who you get to repair your glass!
Using ClearAll GLASS REPAIRS LTD (or any other reputable glass repair company) the answer is no.
You will not be able to see any difference between an area that has been repaired and an area that hasn't.
Can you repair all types of glass?
Yes and no.
The only types of glass that are not suited to polishing are textured, coated or filmed glass.
The polishing process will remove the damage but it will also remove the texture, coating or film leaving a smooth / uncoated area where the glass was repaired.
All types of glass, be they laminated, toughened, float or even ballistic, are able to be repaired.
Can glass with very deep scratches or acid graffiti still be repaired?
The deeper the scratch or depth of the acid the longer the job will take but the glass can still be repaired.
Can glass suffering from hard water, lime scale or mineral deposit build-up also be repaired?
Just like as with any scratch damage, glass with these type of problems can be repaired.
Can you repair mirrors?
After all a mirror is only a piece of glass with a reflective backing.
Can you repair tinted glass?
The tint is essentially part of the glass and isn’t just on the surface meaning it isn’t affected by the repair process.
Does glass repair weaken the glass?
It actually strengthens the glass!
Imagine the scratch is a weak point on the glass, by removing the scratch you remove the weakness!
The glass is now stronger than when it was scratched and only slightly weaker than when it wasn't.
What makes glass repair a "green" option when compared to just simply replacing the glass?
By repairing the glass you are essentially cutting out the need to produce more glass, as well as the mining, refining and transportation of its raw components and transportation of the finished product.
In the production of glass alone a glass furnace is used for 24 hours a day and not only does it consume a massive amount of energy, it also produces 605 kg of CO2 (carbon dioxide) for every 1000 kg of glass produced, which is well over half the weight of the glass.
CO2 produced from glass repair... 0 kg!
The production of glass creates 605 kg of CO2 (carbon dioxide) for every 1000 kg of glass. Repairing your glass helps cut down on the need for new glass which whilst not a direct benefit to you, the customer, its definitely a huge benefit to the environment.
